French River

On the drive back along Georgian Bay via Highway 69, we crossed the French River. There is a 1.5 km trail here back to Recollet Falls that we need to come back for, and a very impressive suspension bridge for snowmobiles over the river.

While searching for Onaping (HIgh) Falls, we were mis-directed to a High Falls on private property that we could not access. Not all was lost though, because the road to these falls was along the beautiful Spanish River.

Manitoulin Sunset – Clear Lake

We tried really hard to find a good spot to watch the sunset this evening, but couldn’t find anything we liked with a good view of the sun setting and an interesting foreground. We had given up and returned to the motel for the night when we happened to glance across the little lake next to the motel…

The Cup and Saucer Trail is a very popular hiking trail along the edge of the Niagara Escarpment on Manitoulin Island. It features amazing views over the island. These are some of the interesting things I saw along the trail.
